Calligaris, the Italian player in the Orbital Design Collective group that has been creating designer objects and furnishings for around 100 years, has decided to invest in a transformation project aimed at structuring a robust and efficient process for managing product data and information, as well as equipping itself with a suitable technological solution for this purpose.

With this in mind, the company chose to rely on Alpenite’s consultancy and expertise for the implementation of Product Information Management (PIM).
Calligaris, which operates globally in around 100 countries, offers a wide range of products with very detailed and diverse technical specifications. It was therefore necessary to consider this broad range of data, as well as the specificities of individual international marketplaces, when choosing the appropriate solution.
It was also necessary to take different purposes into account, such as:
- offering clients a uniform buying experience;
- boosting sales, thanks to accurate and comprehensive product information;
- developing appropriate internal processes for data processing and adaptation, which are smoother and better organised.
Approach and
Solutions
After an in-depth pre-analysis phase, which gathered together all the elements and identified the fundamental requirements, Alpenite proposed the implementation of the Akeneo PIM as the most suitable solution. While the integration of the PIM provides Calligaris with a more standardised solution, doing away with the complexity of the previous data model, it is also able to adapt in a responsive and effective manner to the brand’s sales channels and product information.
Hence, the creation of a dictionary of specific data, such as materials and colours, which further facilitates information management, as well as offering the end customer a high-quality, complete and satisfying online buying experience.
This activity was in addition to the e-commerce project developed on the occasion of the 2022 Furniture Fair for Connubia, a brand that is also part of the Orbital Design Collective group, which Alpenite managed in collaboration with Vulcano Agency for the design part, with Reelevate for the SEO strategies and with Altitudo for the workflow integration.
This success story demonstrates the importance of effectively managing digital transformation and the adoption of advanced technology solutions.
